margot There's something about this album that pulled me in--I can't stop listening to it. I know approximately nothing about music, so I can't really articulate why without sounding ridiculous. But every song on here moves me in a way most stuff I listen to doesn't. (Also I picked Home to Me as my favorite track, but so far it's a toss-up between that, One Hundred Rooms, and Ashland. But seriously the whole album is just gorgeous.) Favorite track: Home To Me.

Hover 03:02
She's dreaming of lions when she tries to rest Circling wide and softly Somebody new, with his head on her chest He breathes to inscribe her body He's a man who knows silence like water knows stone Like midwinter snow knows the Rockies He waits for the sweet things that float and come home Red leaves, high tide, and her body The roof peels away And she's left uncovered Then feet leave the ground And she hovers, she hovers, hovers, hovers... She's hard-pressed to tell you where she went astray Got lost on the way to the party But even a ghost can sometimes be brave She'll sing from inside of her body The roof peels away And she's left uncovered Then feet leave the ground And she hovers, she hovers, hovers, hovers...

Plans 03:10
I lost of track Of how many times I called you back To say I meant it that I got no one else like you I'm gazing at This same old sea of faded plaid Until the night turns black And then I turn to you I should care About the latest world affair Instead I missed it there Cuz I'm here with you And I should find A better way to spend my time Than spinning grand designs Every day with you Let's talk another day Let's sleep it all away Let's fuck it up and say We'll sleep it all away We'll sleep it all away We've been on Your front porch for far too long But we've been gone Hardly any time at all Listen here Why don't we just disappear? Tell our friends that we're Gonna make it on our own Let's talk another day Let's sleep it all away Let's fuck it up and say We'll sleep it all away Let's talk another day Let's sleep it all away Let's fuck it up and say We'll sleep it all away We'll sleep it all away

If I was a rusty nail And I let the air out of your tires You never took me anywhere Just kept me spinning for a while And if I had an evil plan To make you want me and let you down I wouldn't do the things I did Got all wrapped up now I can't get out If I had a bag of money And a big old house with a hundred rooms I wouldn't tell anybody Spend my nights alone howlin' at the moon I could walk a dotted line I could say my prayers when I go to bed But I don't want to waste my time When I'll just wake up with the blues again

Ashland 03:20
I heard you say my name I was looking the other way Saw a tear there on your face I was trying to convey I was listening all the same But you hit me in the gut But you hit me in the gut We were driving out all night We were heading up the 5 You were asking why I just couldn't let it go Pull over to the side I just need to close my eyes For a minute and I'll be fine Oh I gotta let it go I gotta let it go I gotta let it go Read the letter that you sent But still I was on the fence And I've been there ever since Oh and I don't know what for As we're turning round the bend You check my blind spot and pretend That we know whats up ahead No I gotta let it go I gotta let it go I gotta let it go Night time driving up the coastline We'll keep going til' the sunrise Night time driving up the coastline We'll keep going til' the sun

Church Key 02:44
Have you grown thirsty looking for the church key Brother I will take you home Would you ever mind if we could never find it Turning over every stone that we can see Oh where could it be Have you gone farther looking in the dark For a fire that will keep you warm Wander off the trail, lose track of all the details Till we make it door your door, where we can sleep Forever so it seems Brother don't you wait for me Mother don't you wait for me Open up the gates for me And I will sleep until the morning calls me Did you take the harvest over to the market Can I join you on the road Oh the load is barely just enough to carry I don't mind the weight, I don't It's all that I need to bring you back to me Oh I have been workin and my legs are burnin Brother won't you take me home When we all arrive I cannot describe The feeling that is in my bones, warm as can be It's everything to me Brother don't you wait for me Mother don't you wait for me Open up the gates for me And I will sleep until the morning calls me

Home To Me 03:37
I can see you somewhere up the road There's a weight you carry you're trying to let go And you know that if I could I would take it all away from you How dare you love me like you've never known fear When you've got more troubles than minutes in the year And a voice like your father's tells you nothing good's for free Well that may be, but you're walking home to me Must have seen your picture down there in the well Black birds were flying, watching as you fell Years ago I would have said that you'd never get back up again I can see you somewhere up the road There's a weight you carry you're trying to let go And you know that if I could I would take it all away from you How dare you love me like you've never known fear When you've got more troubles than minutes in the year And a voice like your father's tells you nothing good's for free Well that may be, but you're walking home to me I sleep to dream the trail beneath your feet That brings you back to me And step by step, wherever you might be You're walking home to me You're walking home to me On the day you left me you promised you'd come back I don't know who taught you how to live like that All the fences in your way have to crumble in the wind one day I can see you somewhere up the road There's a weight you carry you're trying to let go And you know that if I could I would take it all away from you How dare you love me like you've never known fear When you've got more troubles than minutes in the year And a voice like your father's tells you nothing good's for free Well that may be, but you're walking home That may be, but you're walking home to me

Silhouette 04:42
Just your lovely silhouette I couldn't tell ya How long you've been on my mind It could be a while I thought I heard you laugh when I said: Are we moving on? I guess, I guess, I guess. The patience I have left for looking at my past Is enough. All this time and still I need Another minute I've been trying to retrieve A blurry moment I thought I saw you blush when I asked: Is this good enough? I guess, I guess, I guess. The sureness that I lack is slowing coming back It's enough. All of the names sketched in my head Are blurring away to the outer edge And all of these old rags that I kept Are coming with me just like I said And your lovely silhouette Just your lovely silhouette I couldn't tell ya How long you've been on my mind It could be a while I thought I heard you laugh when I said: Are we moving up? I guess, I guess, I guess Until I find my path the circle that I have Is enough.
